Safety was a top priority when deciding to locate Origins here in the central highlands of Tanzania. It’s a community we’ve been part of for many years, and having the freedom to wander into town, mingle in the markets and get to know local people without the hassle often experienced in more touristy areas is a huge selling point.

For added peace of mind, our 10,000 square metre retreat grounds are enclosed by a natural stone wall and security fence. Winding through the native woodland, it’s discreet enough to not feel enclosed, but strictly controlled 24 hours a day to ensure you and your guests enjoy total privacy and a peaceful sense of security.

We directly employ our own full-time security team, so they’re friendly faces you’ll quickly get to know. We recruit a mixture of people from the local community and guards from the famous Maasai tribe.

Respecting local culture is important, and we encourage guests to dress modestly when out and about. The privacy to be able to dress however you wish within the retreat is therefore a helpful part of being able to completely relax among friends.
