Amy McDonald Retreat Host

Amy joined Origins at the end of 2024.

“I’ve been lucky enough to witness this retreat centre come to life from its very first foundations. If you follow our socials, you may have seen me documenting the entire construction journey. It’s been incredible watching this special place grow into the beauty it is today.

“Having spent a lot of time living and working in Iringa, I’ve come to know the town, the people, and every magical experience we offer inside out. From creative workshops to cultural discoveries and the breathtaking adventures right on our doorstep, I love sharing all the little moments that make Origins unforgettable.”

A bit about me.

I’m happiest when I’m being creative, whether that’s making content or getting stuck into something arty in my downtime. I studied performing arts and have always loved storytelling and self-expression, so I like to bring warmth, energy and a genuine sense of fun to every retreat. I’m a traveller at heart (I even lived in Spain for a few years), and I love exploring new cultures, cuisines and connections wherever I go.

Having been on a few retreats myself, I’ve seen how uplifting and memorable these spaces can be. What I’m most looking forward to is welcoming new people, creating a warm, relaxed atmosphere, and helping guests make moments they’ll genuinely treasure. Origins is such a unique and magical place, and I can’t wait for you to experience everything that makes it so special.
